Possible EU ban on «meaty names» for plant-based products «breach fundamental human rights»: Vegan Society
European proposals to block vegetarian or vegan products from using names traditionally associated with meat-based foods are being challenged on the basis that they would breach the «fundamental human rights» of vegans.
Earlier in April, the European Parliament's agriculture committee backed a ban on vegetarian and vegan products using terminology traditionally associated with meat on their labelling and product descriptions.
