Beruflicher Werdegang

Prof. Dr. Chahan Yeretzian is Professor for Analytical Chemistry, Bioanalytical Chemistry and Diagnostics at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW). He holds an MBA from the University of Lausanne, Switzerland. Prof. Yeretzian is of Head "Analytical Technologies" and of the "Coffee Excellence Center" at the Institute of Chemistry and Biotechnology of the School of Life Sciences and Facility Management.
He holds various board positions on national, European and Global coffee organizations. Since 2009 he is on the Board of the Swiss Section of the Specialty Coffee Associations (http://swisssca.ch/). In 2014 he was elected Director on the Board on the Specialty Coffee Associations, where he is the Chair of the Research Advisory Board(https://sca.coffee/). In 2015 he has been elected to the board of the ASIC - Association for the Science and Information on Coffee (http://www.asic-cafe.org/) an acts as the secretary of ASIC.
Prof. Yeretzian published more than 90 peer reviewed papers, among others as first author in NATURE and SCIENCE, and authored many book chapters. His research focuses on the science and technology of coffee and the development of state-of-the-art analytical technologies. In 2010, he initiated the first post-graduate degree (CAS) on “the Science and Art of Coffee” (http://www.icbc.zhaw.ch/coffee).
