OLIO 2021
In the period from April to June 2021, a so-called "home-use" consumer test took place. For this purpose, all 137 olive oils participating in the Olive Oil Award 2021 - each divided into smaller sessions - were sent to around 450 consumers in German- and French-speaking Switzerland. A total of 14 olive oils were identified as "popular" from the consumer's point of view and awarded the OLIO 2021. Among them are oils from Spain (4), Portugal (4), Italy (3), Greece (2) and Turkey (1). Among them were also two oils, which were awarded in spring by the Swiss Olive Oil Panel SOP as qualitatively particularly outstanding (GOLD / no. 043, bronze / no. 002). In addition, the oil with the no. 088 stands out particularly. It comes from Turkey, was produced from 100% pure Memecik olives and was able to achieve the highest popularity ratings among consumers.
