NEPAQUA – Innovating Nepalese Aquaculture

NEPAQUA aims to drive a sustainable aquaculture transition in Nepal through an interdisciplinary approach combining socio-ecological and socio-technical perspectives. By establishing an Aquaculture Systems Living Lab at the Agriculture and Forestry University (AFU), the project promotes innovation, stakeholder collaboration, and capacity building across academia, policy institutions, and local communities.

NEPAQUA Webinar Series – Innovating Nepalese Aquaculture

Together with AFU, we organized five webinars that explored key aspects of aquaculture and aquaponics, covering foundational principles, local experiences, practical low-tech solutions, gender perspectives, and innovation pathways. These sessions connected Nepal to the global Living Lab network led by ZHAW, fostering knowledge exchange, research collaboration, and sustainable development aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

The webinars took place on selected Thursdays at 13:00 (CET) / 17:45 (Nepal time), and begann on 13 November 2025.
