Beschreibung

More than 38% of final energy use and about 40% of Switzerland's CO2-emissions are related to mobility and transportation. Furthermore, mobility is one of the few sectors where energy use and C02 emission still increase (all data from BFS, 2016). Thus mobility is of central importance to the Swiss energy transition and to climate policy. Substantial research on future mobility systems is underway, focusing mostly on new or more efficient ways to meet an increasing demand for mobility. So far, approaches for influencing the overall demand for mobility or the consumer acceptance of efficient technologies and mobility services are not well covered. While SCCER Mobility and SCCER CREST already focus on selected demand issues, this joint activity will combine detailed knowledge about technical options and their implication for the energy system with a sound understanding of mobility behavior and its social and economic determinants in a systematic way.
