It is an interdisciplinary and inter-institutional project operating in cooperation with NTNU (Norwegian University of Science and Technology) and is linked to their project «Campus of the future» / «Fremtidens Campus».
Aim of the project
The overall aim of both campus projects is to develop campus strategies that reflect recent changes and trends in the academic world (such as emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration or new forms of teaching and learning). Those campus strategies ought to be sustainable and future proof. Insights of these projects are relevant for future campus developments at universities, hospitals, and other large-scale campus projects.
Lines of Research
«Education and Beyond: Innovative Campus Solutions»has two lines of research: «Workplace» and «Learning Environments». The Research Line «Workplace» investigates how workplaces for academic staff can be designed to promote innovation, research, teaching, and collaboration across disciplines. The Research Line «Learning Environments» investigates how learning environments can be retrofitted to accommodate new forms of teaching and learning and to increase learning success, comfort and well-being in the broadest sense for staff and students. The project aims to create a framework for a full campus experience - learning environments where staff and students want to be.
