Campus Biodiversity Day
The IUNR is fortunate to be home to a wide variety of habitats on the Grüental campus and to bring together many passionate biodiversity experts. Since 2019, the Vegetation Ecology research group has been organising the annual Campus Biodiversity Day in Wädenswil in collaboration with the Grüental Garden Team. Every summer, for one afternoon, the approximately 8 hectares of the Grüental become a showcase for biodiversity. All students and staff of the Department of Landscape, Forestry and Environmental Management are warmly invited to discover the rich variety of species on campus alongside specialists. To date, almost 1,000 wild species have been recorded on campus, including vascular plants, mosses, lichens, fungi, grasshoppers, birds, wild bees and bats.
The seventh Campus Biodiversity Day will take place on 19 June 2026 from 9 am to 1 pm.
