Blended Intensive Program (BIP)

Regenerative Real Estate and Facility Management

Imagine if buildings and services didn’t just “do less harm” but actively created positive impacts – for people, the environment, and communities. That’s the idea behind Regenerative Facility Management: shaping living and working spaces so they give back energy, foster biodiversity, and strengthen social interaction. Exciting opportunities for FM to go far beyond sustainability emerge through innovative construction methods, biophilic design, and sustainable services such as catering and logistics, as well as new ways of collaborating inter- and trans-disciplinarily within communities. Join us and develop a creative mindset to make tomorrow's buildings, workplaces and services friendlier, safer and more liveable. Show how regenerative solutions can be implemented in everyday life, on campus, in cities and within organizations.

Organization of the BIP

Seven European universities, 40–50 committed students and one common goal: to work in international teams on a practical case study over the course of a semester. Supported by experienced international coaches, participants develop creative and regenerative solutions to a current issue.

The program begins in calendar week 8 and concludes with an online presentation of the results in June 2026.The program combines virtual collaboration with an intensive week of face-to-face meetings in Amsterdam, taking place from 9 to 13 March.  The teams will exchange ideas, expand professional networks, and further develop a regenerative mindset.

ECTS

The BIP offers students an ideal springboard for those who want to think outside the box, combining intercultural experience, teamwork and innovative project work. The program is open to all students from the Department of Life Sciences and Facility Management. You will receive 4 ECTS credits for your commitment of approximately 100 to 120 hours. After the official program, you will have the opportunity to earn an additional ECTS credit for follow-up work. This offer can be recognized for the International Profile Certificate.
