The foodwaste problem is receiving increasing attention and there are more and more initiatives by individual players. Experience has shown that efficient foodsaving and upcycling of foodstuffs are primarily hampered by challenges in logistics. This leads to competitive disadvantages compared to conventional products. This is where the Foodsave hubs come in: Through regional cooperation of all those involved in the value chain and the use of synergies, foodsaving should become economically viable in line with its benefits.

An analysis of the challenges described above and the outlining of solutions based on a relatively precise vision (foodsave hubs) form the basis for the actual implementation of the concept developed. The findings obtained provide a necessary information base and can be used by Idealesse GmbH.
