Panel Institute of Marketing Management

Terms of Participation

Register for Our Panel

Become a test participant and take part in online surveys, individual interviews or group discussions run by the Institute of Marketing Management (IMM) at ZHAW Zurich University of Applied Sciences. Registering for our panel is non-binding. You can always decide freely whether and in which surveys you would like to take part. We use all data collected exclusively for research purposes and for market-related studies in the field of marketing.

What Does the Institute of Marketing Management Do?

The Institute of Marketing Management (IMM) covers the full spectrum of modern marketing, including consulting, research and development, teaching and continuing education. We work with large companies, SMEs and private individuals, as well as with partner universities at national and international level.

Panel / Register of Panellists

We maintain a register (panel) of people who have signed up because they would like to take part in surveys. To join the register, panellists first provide us with their basic personal details.

When a study looking for panellists begins, we contact the relevant people from the register. We either send them an online survey directly, or a written enquiry to which they can respond if interested. For individual interviews or group discussions, a short recruitment call follows the written enquiry. This call establishes whether the person meets all the criteria for our target group. If all criteria are met, the person is invited to take part and receives written confirmation of the date and location of the interview.

Once added to the register, a test participant may be contacted again for further studies in the future.

Registration

Registration involves collecting the panellist's basic details (e.g. name, email address), along with further information about the person (e.g. age, gender, role) or their organisation (e.g. industry). Additional personal or organisational data may be requested from panellists during individual surveys.

This data is used to define the target groups (screening) for surveys, which forms the basis for sending out survey invitations.

Data Protection

We use all data collected exclusively for research purposes and for market-related studies, and we ensure that personal data is never passed on to third parties.

All information is treated in strict confidence and always evaluated anonymously. Once data collection is complete, address data and interview data are stored separately from one another.

The IMM also conducts surveys on behalf of external clients, which may draw on panellist data. In these cases, only the IMM has access to the basic details and the data collected during the survey. Clients receive only the aggregated results of a study and never any personal data belonging to panellists. It is not possible to draw conclusions about the individuals surveyed.

The collection, processing and storage of data is carried out in accordance with data protection law.

A Panellist's Rights

Anyone living in Switzerland or its neighbouring border regions can register. Taking part in a study is always voluntary, and a test participant may decline to take part when contacted, without giving a reason.

Unsubscribing

You can unsubscribe from the panel at any time, with immediate effect. Simply send an email with the subject line "End panel membership" to info.imm@zhaw.ch.

Compensation

The type and amount of compensation for taking part is communicated to panellists individually during recruitment for each study. Travel expenses are not reimbursed.
