Potential analysis of the need for standardisation in the thematic field of technology

At a glance

Description

The eCH association promotes, develops and adopts standards in the area of eGovernment for efficient, electronic collaboration between public authorities, companies and private individuals. On behalf of eCH, the Institute for Information Systems at the ZHAW School of Management and Law investigated the need for standardization in the area of technology. To this end, a situation analysis was carried out in the German- and French-speaking regions of Switzerland, as well as a comparison with standardization approaches in the EU area.

The result was a concept with three work packages for eCH with the aim of placing standards in the specialist area of technology in the landscape of eGovernment and specifically promoting them through interoperability between public institutions and companies.

  • Work package 1: Professional Group for Technology - Definition of main tasks for a professional group for technology with focus on meta-standards and promotion of interoperability; categorization framework for technology standards; targeted incentive and feedback system
  • Work package 2: Strategic network - Network aimed at raising awareness of the potential of cross-business, cross-industry, cross-institutional and cross-cantonal digital collaboration
  • Work package 3: Government 4.0 and Industry 4.0 - Instruments to promote the digitization of public institutions and companies.
