In order to investigate the possibilities and feasibility of pay-per-use business models in the hydrogen business field, different detailed business models for two relevant market segments were developed. This was conducted in an interactive process with the customer - based on a pay-per-use study, internal documents and market studies.
In particular, the service portfolio was restructured and complemented, and possible financing approaches were incorporated. In addition to the detailing of the holistic business model variations, a dynamic Excel tool with detailed P&L, balance sheet and cash flow calculations was developed to test the financial validity based on various market development scenarios. The project deliverable further included an investor pitch for financing the assets and a detailed implementation plan with recommendations based on benchmarked best practices and challenges.
