Description
The project shows which instruments and methods the cantons can use to flank the legal basis in order to improve the weighing of interests, conflict assessment and development of measures for mountain bike infrastructures (trails, facilities, routes, etc.). Within the framework of the present preliminary project, local stakeholders (forest owners, forest users, forestry, nature conservation, hunting, municipality and mountain bikers) were involved in a selected study area in the canton of Aargau in order to jointly find possibilities for the legal control of mountain bike activities on official trails. A monitoring project was developed on the basis and findings of the preliminary project. Acceptance, usefulness and practicability of the evaluated methods and instruments are to be used in other cantons (replication effect). For example, the effectiveness or success of measures should be measured in a targeted manner (impact and success monitoring).
