Functional polyolefinic adhesives

At a glance

Description

The aim of the project is to develop new polyolefinic adhesives for use as hotmelt adhesive films. Adhesion improvement to various substrates such as aluminum is achieved by the targeted introduction of functional groups. Maleic anhydride (MAH) serves as one possible functional group. Similar products are used, for example, as compatibilizers. In contrast, raw materials for low-melting adhesives are hardly available commercially. In addition, there is a lack of systematic investigations of the relationships between polymer composition (functionalization, base polymer, manufacturing conditions, etc.) and adhesion.
