Description
Our research project "Decomposition of Health Care Spending in Switzerland" aims to contribute to understanding the structure and drivers of healthcare spending in Switzerland. We decompose total spending according to Swiss National Health Accounts by major diseases, types of service, age groups and gender as well as financing source. The decomposition will be carried out for multiple years which will allow the identification of cost drivers at the disease level.
The project builds on a previous study from 2014 funded by the Federal Office of Public Health in which we estimated the cost of non-communicable diseases in Switzerland.
