Description
The Vorarlberg Association of Municipalities commissioned the
IVM to analyse the current situation of cooperation between the
Vorarlberg municipalities and to develop suitable strategies for
the future of inter-municipal cooperation in Vorarlberg.
The study starts with an analysis of the current situation of
inter-municipal cooperation in Vorarlberg, based on existing
materials and a large number of interviews.
The main purpose of the project is to demonstrate the possibilities
of cooperation in selected, resource-intensive areas. The
cooperation model is developed on the basis of specific regions and
an implementation strategy for the entire federal state is
developed on the basis of these findings. Areas examined are social
planning (Walgau region), financial administration (Stand Montafon)
and IT (Vorderland and subregion Am Kumma).
