Welcome to Wädenswil! A semester abroad at the School of Life Sciences and Facility Management will enrich your studies with a unique experience. You get to know Switzerland, its culture and people, while acquiring specific knowledge and improving your language skills. You also broaden your horizons and develop your skills in independence, flexibility, tolerance and intercultural communication. Your career will certainly benefit from being a visiting student in Wädenswil!
International students are welcomed to our school every year. Our degree courses are based on the two-stage Bologna system. Visiting students can study on both the Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes as well as our continuing education programmes.

Students usually come to Wädenswil as guest students from one of our partner universities via the Swiss-European Mobility Programme (SEMP). A limited number of study places are also available for free movers. Free movers can enrol themselves for one or two semesters at the ZHAW with tuition fees of 350 CHF per semester. They require a residence permit for Switzerland and must have appropriate insurance cover. Free movers must register with the International Relations Office (IRO) and submit all necessary registration documents. Admission of Free Movers is decided on an individual basis.
English Study Programmes
In Wädenswil the Institute of Natural Resource Sciences and the Institute of Facility Management both provide study programmes in English. Furthermore, a number of our Institutes run Summer Schools.
Natural Resource Sciences
The consecutive Master's degree in Facility Management taught in English gives exchange students with a Bachelor’s degree in Facility Management the opportunity to do an exchange semester (3 to 12 months) as part of the Swiss-European Mobility Programme SEMP.

Classes in the Bachelor's degree programmes are generally taught in German. However, the Institute of Natural Resource Sciences offers a semester in English every year. The consecutive Master of Science in Life Sciences is taught partly in English, while the Master of Science in Facility Management is entirely in English.
As a guest student you need a language level of B2 in the language in which your programme is taught. The following language courses provide additional support:
