Profitable quality management requires managers to take an active role at all levels. The quality development and review of the implemented measures must be coordinated and operated systematically to gain transparency and control knowledge. In 2011, the job of “Quality Supervisor at the School of Health Professions” was created to strengthen quality management. In this way, it is possible to collaborate directly with quality managers on the management levels and with the Evaluation Unit.
In addition to business process management, activities for quality management at the School of Health Professions also include:
- eduQua-certification of continuing education programmes: The School of Health Professions has been eduQua certified since 2012 and maintains the label with annual intermediate audits and recertifications.
- Friendly Work Space Certification: Friendly Work Space is the seal of quality for companies that have integrated Corporate Health Management (CHM) into their company strategy. It is aimed at companies that not only focus on individual behaviours but also optimise the corporate frameworks and pursue a systematic CHM
- Swiss Quality Award for the “Spitex Plus” project: In the award-winning study “Spitex Plus”, Professor Lorenz Imhof and his team showed that the care of chronically ill people can be improved and costs reduced if nurses are additionally trained and vested with further competencies.
The Evaluation Unit evaluates the range of study programmes and continuing education and conducts a survey of graduates (pilot project ABNA, coordination with Nat-ABBE). The outcomes are used for quality assurance and communication at the School of Health Professions. The concept of the Evaluation Unit is continuously adapted to demands and is oriented to the quality assurance requirements laid down in the Federal Act on Funding and Coordination of the Swiss Higher Education Sector and its provisions. The Evaluation Unit cooperates with the relevant departments at ZHAW.
The School of Health Professions is the only school within ZHAW to run an Evaluation Unit.
Corporate Health Management (CHM) focuses on healthy employees in a healthy and efficient company. The Management of the School of Health Professions has charged the CHM department with the preparation and implementation of CHM measures in the School of Health Professions.
