Data Access to Bloomberg and Refinitiv
Since autumn 2020 the students and faculty of ZHAW Departement of Banking, Finance, Insurance have the privilege of accessing Bloomberg and Refinitiv.
Details
Bloomberg and Refinitiv offer extremely broad and granular data and news on every stock, bond and asset in the universe, spanning over:
- market data (stock and bond prices, live and historical)
- fundamental company data (balance sheets, profit and loss statements)
- financial and company news (profit warnings, announcements)
- macroeconomic data (inflation, GDP, employment)
- data on derivatives (forwards, futures, options)
- specialized datasets on commodities (gold, oil)
- Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) data
It will enable the students from the following study programs to obtain financial and economic data for their module, bachelor or master thesis.

Bloomberg
The Department of Banking, Finance, Insurance offers its students the physical access to Bloomberg on the 4th floor in the SW building in Winterthur.
Learning how to use Bloomberg
In order to gain basic understanding of the functioning of Bloomberg, please follow the online course Bloomberg Market Concepts (BMC). The BMC is currently restricted to students of MSc Banking and Finance.
Refinitiv
Refinitiv provides our Bachelor and Master students in banking, finance or insurance with online access to Refinitiv workspace, one of the most powerful platforms for financial data worldwide.
Start
The program starts on the 1st of November 2020.
Learning how to use Refinitiv
In order to gain basic understanding of using Refinitiv workspace, please register for the certification.

To register for the online access to Refinitiv, please register to the Moodle course "ZHAW access Bloomberg & Refinitiv" and follow the instructions there.
