Science Slam
At the Circular Economy Science Slam, researchers presented their complex topics in a creative, humorous and accessible way. Within ten minutes, they distilled their research down to its essence, and the audience decided at the end of the evening who delivered the best presentation.
Slamming for a sustainable future
The Science Slam is organized as part of the Circular Lab, a central hub for sustainable circular economy in the Lake Constance region. The aim is to establish the topic of circular economy not only in research, but also to make it accessible to a broad audience. There are no limits to creativity here! The more understandable, vivid and entertaining, the better.

«The circular economy has many exciting facets, and who could convey them better than experts who are passionate about their field?»
- Prof. Dr. Pia Furchheim, ZHAW, Institute of Marketing Management
An evening full of science and entertainment
The event took place on 10 April 2025 at the Textile Museum St.Gallen. In this unique setting, the audience experienced how science and sustainability can come together in an entertaining way. Doors opened at 6 pm, giving visitors the chance to view the exhibition «Circle of Water. Textiles in Flux», organized by the Circular Lab beforehand, which explores the connection between textiles, sustainability and water.
Researchers took to the stage and presented their latest scientific findings and visions.
