Join us at an information session to learn about our CAS GMM program and meet professionals and lecturers who work in the field of global mobility and expat management.
The course provides expertise in structuring and managing international employment relationships. This includes establishing and refining a (global) assignment policy—including the development of assignment guidelines—as well as the optimal structuring and management of individual international employment relationships (assignment contracts, temporary staffing arrangements, domestic employment contracts, external consulting agreements, etc.).
The focus is on correctly determining salaries and benefits or drafting assignment letters and foreign consulting agreements.
The Global Mobility Manager must creatively and strategically address complex contractual, assignment, or temporary staffing scenarios. In doing so, not only must Swiss law be observed, but clarifications must also be sought with the countries involved
Today, global mobility no longer refers solely to the traditional assignment of an employee from one country to another. This model still exists and remains important. However, newer forms of cross-border employment are also being taken into account, such as remote work, workations, or the employment of digital nomads.
This development shows that the global mobility sector is undergoing a transformation. Cases are becoming more diverse, legally more complex, and often less clearly classified into traditional categories. This is precisely where the CAS Global Mobility Management program comes in.
The CAS GMM is a legal program. In terms of content, it integrates various areas of law. In practice, issues from these different areas of law never arise in isolation. A single case can raise a combination of issues involving labor law, work permit law, tax law, and social security law.
The target audience typically comes from the fields of HR, global mobility, payroll, tax, legal, immigration, and compliance in internationally active companies, consulting firms, the Big Four, payroll providers, or specialized service providers.
USPs:
USP 1: In-depth knowledge of Swiss law and taxation in the field of international mobility (certified legal program with focused content)
The CAS GMM addresses global mobility from various legal perspectives. This distinguishes it from international HR-oriented programs as well as from general Swiss HR, payroll, or tax training courses.
USP 2: The only comprehensive, English-language, certified program in Switzerland
The English language here is not merely a label of internationalization. It is the working language of the field. Global mobility is, in fact, handled in English within multinational companies, Big Four teams, and international HR, tax, and payroll functions.
USP 3: Interdisciplinary Approach at the Intersection of HR, Payroll, Legal, Tax, Immigration, and Social Security
The intersection between payroll and HR is not properly addressed in other courses; payroll specialists often don’t come into the picture until the expat is already settled, while preparatory steps, assignment letters, benefits, assignment policies, permits, social security, and tax issues are not covered in an integrated manner.
USP 4: Case Studies and Practical Skills Instead of Pure Knowledge Transfer
The CAS aims not only to teach which rules exist, but also how to approach a case in a structured manner. The focus is on which questions must be asked first, what clarifications are necessary, which functions must be involved, and where compliance risks arise.
USP 5: Future-Proofing: Traditional Assignments Plus New Forms of Mobility
The global mobility sector is undergoing a transformation: remote work, workations, short-term assignments, and project-based assignments are becoming increasingly relevant; the course is continuously updated to cover topics such as micro-establishments, transfer pricing, cross-border commuter regulations, and work-from-home days.
This aligns very well with OECD developments. The OECD is currently addressing global mobility of individuals, remote and cross-border work, employment income, residence status, taxing rights, employer compliance, social security, the gig economy, and digital nomads
