Graduation of the DAS Applied Diplomacy and CAS Foreign Affairs & Applied Diplomacy in Zurich
On 3 July, the ZHAW School of Management and Law celebrated the first graduates of the DAS Applied Diplomacy and the eighth cohort of the CAS Foreign Affairs & Applied Diplomacy (FAAD), both offered by the Center for Geopolitics & Competitiveness.

The event in Zurich provided an opportunity to honour the achievements of the participants and to reflect on current diplomatic challenges. A heartfelt thank-you also went to foraus – Swiss Forum on Foreign Policy for the highly successful collaboration.
A special highlight of the graduation ceremony was the keynote speech by Luzia Tschirky, former foreign correspondent for SRF and an expert on current developments in Ukraine. Luzia Tschirky experienced the outbreak of the war in Ukraine firsthand and shared deeply personal insights from the crisis region. She emphasised the turning point in history, the unpredictability, and the risks on the international stage – all of which underline how vital it is, especially in these uncertain times, to possess diplomatic sensitivity, foresight, and resilience – skills that our graduates now hold.
