Sustainability Persona Cards

The Sustainability Persona Cards are a science-based co-creation tool designed to facilitate user-centred co-design in participative sustainability projects.

The tool consists of six Sustainability Persona Cards that are based on the Swiss Sustainability Lifestyle Typology and backed up by a semi-systematic review of international research. The cards represent a simplification of the descriptions of the six Swiss Sustainability Lifestyle Types to provide an easy-to-use, intuitive format for co-creation processes with various stakeholders. The cards may also serve as a basic structure that can be adapted to various contexts, themes, or municipal scenarios such as mobility, energy or food.

The Persona Cards can be used to:

  • Identify typical behavioural barriers and drivers during participatory co-creation workshops.
  • Support ideation and use-case development with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Facilitate participatory co-creation in living labs and innovation processes.
