New Continuing Education Course: Sustainability Communication & Reporting
How can companies communicate their sustainability performance credibly, effectively and in a legally sound way—especially in times of increasing regulatory requirements and growing scepticism towards greenwashing? The new ZHAW continuing education course (WBK) Sustainability Communication & Reporting provides practical know-how and concrete tools for professional sustainability communication.
In this two-day, in-person course, participants acquire key competencies at the intersection of communication, reporting and regulation. The programme combines up-to-date academic insights with best practices from corporate reality, with a particular focus on strategic communication, relevant reporting standards and target-group-oriented approaches to sustainability topics.
The course is aimed at professionals responsible for marketing and corporate communications, managers and specialists from SMEs, as well as employees of PR and communication agencies who want to communicate sustainability in a well-founded and credible manner.
The first day of the course focuses on current trends, regulatory developments, and mandatory and voluntary reporting standards. Participants explore topics such as impact, materiality, KPIs, greenwashing risks, and the strategic use of standards.
The second day is dedicated to effective sustainability communication at both company and product level. Using real-life case studies, participants learn what constitutes good sustainability communication, how different target groups perceive sustainability, and how content can be effectively framed and communicated.
Workshops, case studies (including examples from companies such as Nespresso, Patagonia, Lidl, V-Zug and Swiss Airlines) and interactive discussions ensure a strong practical orientation.
