New Innosuisse project on automatic Graphics Description
The ICT Accessibility research group has received an Innosuisse grant for its new project, "Accessible Graphics: Semantic graphic description in PDFs for visually impaired people." The project aims to exploit the latest AI to generate text descriptions of charts and graphs – an essential part of scientific publications that is unfortunately often inaccessible to visually impaired users. The project is set to begin in January 2024.
