The study programs, research activities, and consulting services of the Center for Arts Management deals with all relevant aspects of cultural management, fund raising, and sponsoring. One of our central concerns is the promotion of strategic thinking and entrepreneurial practices in the cultural sector. The Center for Arts Management sets high standards in its degree and continuing education programs and is highly committed to the effective integration of theory and practice. The center works closely with professionals from cultural institutions and projects, public bodies, creative businesses, and the non-profit sector. Our partners, clients, and students benefit from a wide-ranging network of relevant points of contact in culture, management, politics, and communication.
Focus areas of our research are cultural policy strategies, interactive marketing of culture, governance, and financing in culture, as well as cultural entrepreneurship. Our activities are tailored to the needs of our clients and include research contracts and studies, projects sponsored by the federal government and foundations, in addition to student research. We deal with issues involving the local community, culture, and the business sector. In addition, we publish scientific articles about aspects of cultural management and develop tailor-made solutions. Our research activities form the basis of our consulting activities and we communicate our findings to interested parties through workshops and conferences, and in scientific journals and periodicals. Our consultancy services include the creation of cultural support frameworks and the formation of guiding principles; strategic and operational concepts for cultural institutions; the evaluation of organizations and projects; audience surveys; sponsoring, marketing, and communication concepts; feasibility analysis; or business plans for cultural start-ups. We handle the entire consulting process from the initial briefing, analysis, conception, implementation, support, and evaluation, right through to the final documentation.
