What are the admission requirements for the PMI PMP exam?
If you have a university degree (Bachelor or Master from a technical college or university) as your highest level of education or training, then the requirements are as follows:
- 36 months/4,500 hours of practical experience as a project manager
- 35 hours of verifiable further education in project management (our PMI-Cert-Prep-Course consists of 32 classroom lessons plus at least 20 e-learning lessons, which more than covers the required 35 hours). For attending our course you will receive a certificate of even 50 hours of verifiable continuing education in project management = 50 PDU).
You do not bring a university degree, then the requirements are the following:
- 60 months/7,500 hours of practical experience as a project manager
- 35 hours of verifiable continuing education in project management (our PMI-Cert-Prep-Course takes 32 face-to-face lessons and at least an additional 20 guided e-learning lessons. For attending our course you will receive a certificate of even 50 hours of verifiable continuing education in project management = 50 PDU).
How long does the registration take?
Online registration takes an average of 5 business days.
How does the registration process work?
Registration is done through PMI's website. For more details please consult the manual under chapter "Application & Payment".
What documents do I need to provide during the registration process?
If you are randomly selected for the audit process, PMI will contact you. You will then have 90 days to submit the following documents:
- copies of your diplomas
- signature from your supervisors regarding your practical work as a project manager
- copies of the certificates of completed project management trainings
Where can I find out about the next exam dates?
The exams take place every week, usually from Tuesday to Friday, for example in Geneva and Munich. For more details, please contact the Prometric website.
What is the cost of the PMP exam (not included in the course fees)?
For PMI members $405
For non-members $555
Where can I take the PMI PMP exam?
Currently, the PMI PMP exam can only be taken in Geneva. It is a computer-based exam.
Is the language in English or in German?
It is possible to take the exam in English, German or French.
