Business in Europe

“Europe is our most important trading partner: Understanding it holistically is a decisive competitive advantage for Swiss companies.”

Dr. Florian Keller, Head Center for EMEA Business

Focus Areas

Every second Swiss franc is earned abroad. The European Union (EU) is Switzerland's most important trading partner. The resulting mandate for Business in Europe is a continuous analysis and assessment of the economic and political relationship between Switzerland and the EU. We also make the resulting outcomes and developments available to our partners from industry. To this end, we offer a comprehensive range of degree and continuing education programs as well as a portfolio of services for companies.

Core Competencies

Degree Programs

We offer various taught modules focusing on international business, applied diplomacy, and international relations. We also supervise final theses at Bachelor's, Master's, and MAS Business Administration level in these and other areas.

Continuing Education

CAS International Business Development

Do you want to recognize and take advantage of market opportunities? In the CAS International Business Development, you will gain the first-hand expertise required to do this.

Research and Consulting

Our current research and consulting activities concentrate on the following areas of competence:

3D Printing

3D printing is one of the key technologies that will benefit strongly from digitization trends and the "Internet of Things."

Instead of manufacturing products centrally at only a few locations and transporting them worldwide to their destinations, additive manufacturing enables production information to be transferred online to any site. The physical product is then manufactured directly in the target market, closer to the end-user.

Together with the Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences, the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW), and various companies from the Upper Rhine region, we are researching new business models and cross-border cooperation in the field of 3D printing.
