Therapy via the internet – how does it work?

The workshop will present basic characteristics and evidence of internet-delivered therapy in general and Internet-CBT for children with functional abdominal pain disorders in particular. Advantages and disadvantages of the internet format, the therapist’s role, and working with parents will be covered during the workshop. The workshop will be in English and online.

I’m a postdoctoral researcher in the Pain Neuroimaging lab at Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm Sweden. During my PhD I developed an internet-delivered cognitive behavioral therapy (Internet-CBT) for children with functional abdominal pain disorders. This treatment has recently been implemented in regular health care in Sweden. I have also been involved in several other studies of internet-based cognitive behavioral therapies for children, adolescents and adults.
