CHIPOTS+: Chitin-Integrated Mycelium-Bound Substrate Blocks for Seedling Boosting
Beschreibung
The CHIPOTS+ project aims to reduce peat use in seedling production and restore soil fungal systems using chitin-integrated mycelium-bound substrate blocks. These blocks offer environmental benefits, promote plant growth, and induce resistance to pathogens (ZHAW research). Mycostrat GmbH has developed cost-effective living blocks with promising results. Further research is needed to optimize use and explore effects on crops. Large-scale applications will be developed with key Swiss players.
