Transparent communication is essential for patient-centred care and treatment. In many cases, however, this is not possible due to language barriers.

Artificial intelligence can help overcome some of these language barriers quickly, In other cases, a professional interpreter is needed to ensure clear understanding. Using the example of the accident and emergency department of the Cantonal Hospital Baselland (KSBL) and the Psychiatric Services Baselland (PBL), this project examines which communication method works best in which situations.
