Smart Building Management for Smart Cities: Data-Driven Urban Transformation

Smart Building Management for Smart Cities. Data-Driven Urban Transformation: This project explores how Smart Building Management, urban data and digital technologies can support sustainable and resilient cities, translating scientific knowledge into practical tools for data-driven urban transformation and evidence-based decision-making.

Description

The project “Smart Building Management for Smart Cities: Data-Driven Urban Transformation and Knowledge Transfer” focuses on the development of an applied digital learning programme that transfers scientific and technical knowledge on smart buildings, digital transformation, urban data, artificial intelligence, sustainability, circular business models, and innovation into operational tools for urban management. The programme is designed for municipal professionals, practitioners, consultants, and students, with a particular focus on adapting international knowledge and methodologies to the realities of Latin American cities.

The project combines data-driven decision-making, smart building technologies, urban systems, and sustainable transformation. Its five thematic modules cover digital transformation in the built environment, smart buildings and cities, circular business models, innovation, and future urban development. Particular emphasis is placed on evidence-based approaches, practical exercises, user-centred design, and the transfer of knowledge into real neighbourhood- and city-level applications.

The overall aim is to strengthen local technical capacities and support more sustainable, resilient, inclusive, and data-driven urban development through accessible digital learning and applied knowledge transfer.
