Variable Compensation Model in Nursing Pools: An Accompanying Evaluation
Spital Männedorf, together with Careanesth, is introducing a new pool model (dynamic pool) with variable wages based on experience and flexibility for nursing staff. WIG provides scientific support during the pilot phase, evaluating the model's clarity, attractiveness, and acceptance.
Description
Spital Männedorf, together with Careanesth, is introducing a new Dynamic Pool model for more flexible nursing staff planning. The previous pool system was based on fixed wages, which only partially met growing demands for flexibility, predictability, and cost-efficiency.
Through variable compensation models, committed employees are to be rewarded and willingness to work within the pool strengthened, helping to bridge staffing shortages more flexibly.
WIG provides scientific support for the rollout, evaluating the model's clarity, attractiveness, and acceptance among ward managers and nursing staff. The study includes surveys before and after implementation, interviews with ward managers, and analysis of platform data on booking behavior, availability, and wage ranges.
Findings will inform model optimization and a potential rollout to further departments.
