School Communication with Foreign-Language Parents/Guardians
Description
The participatory research project investigates the challenges of school communication with foreign language parents/guardians, contributing to greater equity within the school system and high-quality schooling.
The aim is to identify specific areas for action that schools can further develop in order to improve their communication with foreign language parents/guardians and promote exchanges and dialogue with them, thereby fostering their social integration. To this end, guided interviews are held with headteachers, teachers, interpreters and foreign-language parents/guardians on the challenges they face with respect to school communication. Based on these findings, areas for action are derived, which are then developed further in a workshop setting together with school representatives before being implemented directly in the participating schools and broadly disseminated across the education sector.
