Comparative genomics tools for analysis and detailed description of the clinically relevant bacterial genus Phytobacter
Genome data is available for many bacterial genera. This treasure of data is often understudied for taxonomic purposes, but also for the genomic context of such bacteria.
Description
The genomes of many isolates of the opportunistic human pathogenic bacterial genus Phytobacter have become available.
Though rare as a disease, it is found in clinical environment, having acquired pan-resistance to beta-lactam antibiotics or even the resistance to polymyxin, the last-resort antibiotic.
Here, a detailed study of the genomes of all Phytobacter spp. to identify antibiotic resistances is planned, but also a study of the predicted physiology of the species within this genus.
