MemoBox: AI-assisted reminiscence therapy in everyday life (MemoBox)
MemoBox is an AI-supported digital memory box for people with early-stage cognitive impairment, featuring a camera and voice dialogue system. The goal is autonomous reminiscence therapy, promoting well-being and supporting care through AI.
Description
MemoBox is developing a digital memory box for people with early cognitive impairment. Physical memory objects are recognised using AI and linked to stored biographical stories that can be accessed and experienced through spoken dialogue.
The project aims to make autobiographical memories more accessible in everyday life, stimulate positive emotions and conversations, and ease the burden on relatives and caregivers. To achieve this, an accessible MVP will be developed featuring object recognition, local data storage, a voice interface, and an AI dialogue system, and will be evaluated in a field test.
