Digital Self-Learning Unit Design of Experiment
Description
Studying and inexperienced scientists: Within the field of Applied Life Sciences, they often find it difficult to develop consistent and efficient research designs. In order to practice the principles of experiment design, a simulation-based learning environment is created for experiment planning.
To do this, existing, application-relevant data from research projects will be used and built on the existing E-Praktikum learning platform (epraktikum.lsfm.zhaw.ch).
Experiment planning is carried out in all study programs at the department, although it is taught theoretically in the statistics events, but we observe that the students are still concerned with the practical implementation, as soon as they have to actually plan, carry out and evaluate experiments in a project-, semester- or bachelor's thesis.
An exploratory, playful and visual experience of the progress and the consequences of the decision bzgl. DOE brings our concerns to the learners a concrete access and positive learning experience, which was directly affected in the quality of student work and F&E projects.
