Winterthur Re-Use
The research project investigates the extent of reuse potential in Winterthur and the technical, legal, and organizational requirements that need to be met in order to enable the circular use of building components in an urban context.
Description
The city of Winterthur has a diverse and extensive building stock that offers significant potential for a circular construction industry. However, reliable data and systematic foundations are needed to tap this potential in a targeted manner and promote the reuse of building components.
To date, there has been no in-depth analysis assessing the reuse potential of the city's building stock and identifying the framework conditions under which it can be utilized for circular strategies. This research project examines this potential on the one hand and, on the other, shows how it could be further developed in a reuse hub or in a database for a competition.
