Establishment of a stem cell expansion process with microcarriers

Description

The development of stem cell-based therapeutics is predicted to grow significantly in the future. First commercial products are now available in the field of regenerative medicine.

However, to ensure economic feasibility, the production processes have to be scaled-up which requires 3D cultivation systems.

The aim of the project is to transfer a hMSC production process in planar cultivation systems to a single-use stirred benchtop bioreactor that is operated with microcarriers.
