Digital Dermatology: Studying the impact of digitalization on dermatologists, patients and healthcare
The goal of this fellowship of the DIZH is to study the impact of the digitalization of dermatology on the society. The result will be a white paper to inform and guide the various stakeholders as well as a proposal for the first industry or foundation end.
Result
A publication entitled "Augmented and virtual reality in dermatology : where do we stand and what comes next?" has been published in Dermato (MDPI) (see below).
Description
The project explores the current state and future potential of augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR) in dermatology. It reviews applications in education, surgery, and diagnostics, highlighting tools like Virtual Derm and AI-integrated VR systems. Despite promising developments, AR/VR adoption in dermatology remains limited. The authors foresee AR, especially with haptic feedback, becoming more prominent in clinical practice.
