CAI co-organised AI+X Summit 2025
Early October 2025, over 2000 participants gathered in Oerlikon at the AI+X Summit to explore how AI is shaping business, science, and society.ZHAW Zurich University of Applied Sciences, ETH and the University of Zurich co-organised the event.

Our centre was represented by Prof. Dr. Alisa Rupenyan who organised a workshop titled «Beyond Automation: AI-supported Optimization for Smart Manufacturing» and provided valuable insight. Important points were addressed about AI in Manufacturing, in particular: integrating domain knowledge and physics is crucial, how small models are needed for deployment in the field and how LLMs are not the foundation for everything. The workshop certainly sparked further discussions.
In addition, Dr. Jorge Pena Queralta, one of our newest members and the head of our Embodied Mobile Agents group, provided demos with our humanoid robot. He and the CAI team, consisting of Don Tuggener, Patrick Giedemann, Gloria Papetti, supported the visitors who tested our XR tele-operation setup, controlling KAI’s upper body in real time. They also addressed questions from the visitiors about the future of AI and robots, and allowed for attendees to take selfies with our humanoid robot.
We are proud to be part of the organizers bringing together community of brilliant minds shaping what AI means in practice.
