Current State of AI-Adoption in Swiss SME
Where do companies in the Winterthur region stand when it comes to the use of artificial intelligence? Together with the Winterthur Chamber of Commerce, the Process Science Centre at the Institute of Information Systems is investigating this question.
Description
Small and medium-sized enterprises are currently deciding whether to adopt artificial intelligence without being able to reliably assess their own starting position. The available indicators on AI use are aggregated at national or European level and offer the individual firm little orientation. For the Winterthur economic region, no survey has so far examined technology, organisation and environment together.
The project draws on a model of organisational AI adoption developed at the ZHAW and uses it to determine the state of AI use in the region. It answers two questions: where do companies stand with regard to technology, organisation and environment and what determines the success or failure of AI projects?
