We develop a new system for condition-based maintenance of train bogies and railway tracks, using existing operational data together with cost-efficient IoT sensors installed onboard in-service trains. By continuously monitoring the condition of both vehicles and infrastructure, the system enables earlier detection of emerging faults and supports more informed maintenance decisions.

This approach will lower maintenance costs, prolong equipment lifetimes, reduce unplanned downtime, and enhance the safety and reliability of railway operations.
