Cryogenic Kidney Preservation (CRP)
The project aimt to develop an experimental system for cryopreservation of kidneys for organ transplantation and donation.
Description
The goal of this collaborative project is to develop an experimental test system for investigating the cryopreservation of kidneys using perfusion. The system includes the necessary hardware and software to control the temperature and concentrations of cryoprotectants in the perfusate during the perfusion of a human-sized kidney.
The vision is to be able to store kidneys for longer periods of time in the organ donation process, ensuring the best possible match between the donor and the recipient.
