Local Adaptation and Sustainability in Grain Legume Cultivation with Soybean as a Proof of Principle (FoodN'Feed)
Description
The project FoodN'Feed aims to fill the gap in the development of native microbial communities for Swiss-adapted sustainable grain legume cultivation by capturing the true nodule rhizobial community and associated root microbiomes for the three most relevant grain legume crops for Switzerland (soybean, faba bean and dry bean) using soybean as a proof of principle.
Our research extends beyond Swiss borders through a direct research partnership with France and two COST Actions, testing locally adapted biofertilizers in different agro-climatic conditions, especially in Central and Northern Europe.
