Adaptive Dimensionality-Reduced Encryption Protocol for Time-Series Sensors (ADEPT)
Description
ADEPT (Adaptive Dimensionality-Reduced Encryption Protocol for Time-Series Sensors) investigates privacy-preserving encryption methodology for resource-constrained IoT devices by replacing computationally expensive fully homomorphic encryption with lightweight dimensionality reduction techniques (PCA, Random Projection, Compressed Sensing).
The partnership between ZHAW Institute of Embedded Systems (InES) and Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna Pisa will create a security-efficiency framework that drastically reduces communication bandwidth and memory usage while assessing trade-offs in information leakage. Potential applications include monitoring the structural health of bridges and optical network telemetry.
