Statistical Analysis of Capacity-Building Progress of Supreme Audit Institutions in English-Speaking Africa

The ZHAW Institute of Public Management (ZHAW-IVM) supported the African Organisation of English-Speaking Supreme Audit Institutions (AFROSAI-E) in the development of the '2024 State of the Region ICBF Self-Assessment Report'.
To this end, ZHAW-IVM conducted a statistical review of the self-assessment data of AFROSAI-E member SAIs, covering the period 2020-2024.
The analysis examined
- trends,
- progress and
- persistent challenges
across five domains of AFROSAI-E's Institutional Capacity Building Framework (ICBF).
This contribution enables AFROSAI-E to assess capacity-building outcomes and supports its efforts to improve public sector auditing in the region.
