Fuel-flexible, modular retrofit burner system for industrial applications (H2FHYFLEXGT)

Development of a fuel-flexible, modular burner for retrofitting gas turbines. The aim of the project is to use the scalable burner to significantly improve the efficiency, operating behavior and emissions of gas turbines.

Description

The Sustainable Business & Engineering Solutions GmbH (SBES) has developed the HyFlexGT burner, a 3D-printed, modular burner. The HyFlexGT can efficiently burn natural gas/biogas, hydrogen and their mixtures with low NOx and CO2 emissions. The burner has a variable number of mixing tubes, which allows easy scaling to the desired output and thus improves operability and efficiency.

As part of the project, the HyFlexGT burner is being systematically further developed so that it can be used as a retrofit solution in various types of gas turbines. Both experimental and numerical methods will be employed for this purpose.
