The KMU ZH Monitor is based on a survey conducted among small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the canton of Zurich. Its objective is to assess the general state, current business developments, and overall conditions for SMEs. Additionally, the challenges faced by these companies and their areas of interest are collected and analyzed.

Annual focal topics are dedicated to in-depth exploration of current issues. In 2025, the KMU ZH Monitor focuses specifically on succession planning, liquidity reserves in SMEs, and cryptocurrencies.

The high number of participants allows for a differentiated analysis by sector and company size.

The Zürcher Kantonalbank utilizes the insights gained through the KMU ZH initiative to develop practical solutions in collaboration with external experts.
