This project supports the development of nutrient recovery processes for waste materials, including fecal matter and municipal sewage sludge, in rural Guatemala.

The circular Mosan system combines ecological dry toilets, waste collection services, and treatment processes such as pyrolysis and urine dehydration to transform polluting waste streams into biochar-based soil substrates for reuse in agriculture.
